Long ago, Milaria was filled with different kingdoms and dynasties. Warring with one another over differing opinions, philosophies, and ideals. Kings, Queens, Emperors, and Empresses ruled the lands as they saw fit. Castles rose above the tallest forest, fabulous cities dotted the desert, and enormous pyramids rose above the mighty sand dunes. As beautiful as Milaria was, it was just as dangerous.

     Tall, lumbering, colossal titans roamed the continents and the seas. Extremely territorial, they fought with one another in devastating battles. Villages and cities would be completely turned to rubble in an instant. The titan's seemed to ignore the populous, much like humanoids ignore ants on the ground. This meant staying out of the path of a titan was strongly advised. Despite their colossal size and frightening appearance, many of the locals saw them as living gods. They worshipped, followed, and gave gifts and sacrifices to the titans.

     However, when the meteor struck Milaria on 1743 yr, the titans vanished. Many assumed they disappeared into the unknowns of Milaria. Others believed they were killed by the dust and vapors from the meteor entering the atmosphere. No bones, or traces of the titans have been found, other than the stories and records that were kept and survived times progression. 

​

     After the meteor hit and the crystals were found, Milaria began to change. New inventions, weapons of war, and quality of life improvements. Kingdoms were conquered, nations destroyed, people displaced, and chaos. More devastating, the Weave crumbled. Magic ceased to exist. Many of those who could use the weave, found themselves without purpose and without abilities. Milaria became a dangerous place to live for most. War plagued the lands as rulers sought to expand their empire and control. Each day it seemed a new invention was being made, a new way to kill or a new household item to improve daily life.

     After 100 years of chaos, warring, and fighting many of the citizens began to revolt. Each tired of the wars and damage caused by their leaders. Royal families were ousted, imprisoned, or worse - killed. The revolt spread across the planet. One by one kingdoms were dismantled. A new way of governing was born. Instead of kings, queens, emperors, and empresses each city would govern itself. They would have their own laws, their own governing body, and most importantly, not be tied to any nation or kingdom.

     Lumina City was found in year 1845 to represent this ideal. Many of those displaced by war took up residence here. The city grew quickly, its focus on new inventions and new uses for the Quantum Crystals. While it was mostly a peaceful time for Milaria, there were still wars and battles being fought between the cities. As cities would grow larger and require more space and resources, conflict was inevitable. Large cities would consume smaller cities, and territories would shift and expand.

     In year 2005, researchers in Lumina were able to track the origin location of the meteor from so long ago. Telescopes and advanced computers and simulation modules were finally able to track it's origin. The meteor came from an asteroid belt circling a planet in the solar system that was called Titan. The largest planet in the solar system and named after the legends of the titans that used to roam Milaria.

 

     A space survey team was formed and with the last of the Quantum Crystals, they launched into space. With the Quantum Crystals powering the engines, the ship was able to travel faster than expected. They arrived in the asteroid belt in 8 months. The team found a large asteroid and landed. Surveying the asteroid, they discovered it was dotted in crystals. Some of the crystals shot up from the surface 15 feet tall. They gathered what they could, and returned to Milaria.

     Lumina City then decided to set up mining sites on some of the larger asteroids. Rockets would take off and land, carrying miners to and from the asteroid belt as well as hauling tons of Quantum Crystals. The mining operation was setup in 2015.

 

 

     As Lumina City grew and research continued into the Quantum Crystals, the first Quantum Ammunition would be created a little over 30 years later in 2058. Fired out of a gun, this special ammunition would would harness the energy from the crystal causing the projectile to have magical properties. This energy was so powerful that the projectile would be consumed once fired but the energy would travel on to it's target. Soon after, researchers discovered that it could act as a power source for electrical components. 

​

      In 2071, the first cybernetic implant was created and tested. These allowed the energy from the Quantum Crystals to be released directly into specific parts of the users body. Allowing them to have better control over the energy. In 2075, cybernetic implants were made available to the to the public.

​

     Today, in year 2198, Lumina City stands above the rest of the cities. Many are eager to move here, and many want to move away from here. Crime in the streets, poverty, gangs, and criminal organizations. Many deem the risks worth it, to strike it big in Lumina City.
